How are you flexible with scheduling for teen workers?
On weeknights, we don't schedule anyone under the age of 18 past 10:30 or 11, partially because of school. If we hire a high schooler, the expectation is that you're not going to have a lot of availability during the week or late at night. There is no expectation for that. School is way more important than working at a movie theater.
How else do you accommodate younger employees?
Most of the people that are 16, we're not going to put them in a position to close down the concession stand. We don't want to put that pressure on younger kids. It's a bad work experience if you're here until 2 or 3 a.m. We try to be open like that — we need to be just as flexible as they do.
